Recipe details
Ingredients
- 1 fresh croissant
- 75g cookie dough (home made or shop bought - my Mini Egg cookie dough is a great choice)
- 2 Kinder Bueno Mini Eggs (or 3-4 squares from a bar)
Instructions
- Simply pre heat your oven to 180ºc and cut a croissant in half lengthways.
- Half the cookie dough and shape into two flat discs the same size as the croissant surface. Lay one half in the croissant, and push two Kinder Bueno eggs into the cookie dough. Press the top half of the croissant down and top with another disc of cookie dough before baking for 8-10 minutes (or until the middle is soft and gooey)
- It's as simple as that - let me know if you try this!
What is a Crookie?
A "crookie" is a delicious hybrid pastry that combines elements of two popular treats: the croissant and the cookie. This delightful creation typically features layers of croissant dough wrapped around a center of cookie dough, resulting in a pastry that has flaky, buttery layers on the outside and a soft, chewy cookie center.
Crookies have gained popularity in recent years as a fun and creative twist on traditional pastries. They can be customised with different types of cookie dough and fillings to create unique flavour combinations, making them a versatile treat for any occasion. Whether enjoyed fresh out of the oven with a cup of coffee or tea, or as a special dessert for a celebration, crookies are sure to delight pastry lovers everywhere.
