Ingredients
- 300g plain flour
- 100g softened butter
- 90g icing sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 100g chocolate (any will work, I used Caramilk)
Sprinkles are optional but recommended!
Instructions
- Cream your butter and icing sugar in a bowl and then add the egg and vanilla. It may curdle but don’t worry, it will come together when you add the flour.
- Add the flour and salt and combine until you have a soft dough. Place between two sheets of greaseproof paper and roll out into a rectangle around 1cm thick. Chill in the freezer for 30 minutes.
- Whilst the dough is chilling line a tray with greaseproof paper and pre heat the oven to 170°c.Once chilled, cut the dough into even sticks and lay on the prepared tray. Bake for 12 minutes and leave to cool completely.
- Once cool, melt the chocolate either in the microwave in 30 second bursts, stirring until melted, or in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water.
- Pour into a small glass and dunk the end of each biscuit stick in. Shake off the excess and lay on a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Scatter over sprinkles if using and leave to set in the fridge for around 30-60 minutes. Make your hot chocolates and stir away!
