The Nest, Lincolnshire
Three Luxury Safari Tents, nestled by a private lake in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside.
Whilst Glamping is the perfect summer adventure, it can also be a really cosy experience in the Autumn too. Days may be shorter, but the temperature is still comfortable enough to enjoy everything these Luxury Safari Lodges have to offer, including beautiful grounds, film and fire pit evenings and wild swimming and kayaking in the lake.
What is Glamping?
Glamping combines luxury with camping, offering upscale amenities like real beds, electricity, and private bathrooms in natural settings. It allows people to enjoy the outdoors while maintaining a high level of comfort and convenience. So think of it as camping, with all the creature comforts!
We stayed in Pinkfoot Lodge, Cuckoo and Teal were either side. Each lodge sleeps six people consisting of a kingsize cabin bed, a twin room, and a kingsize master bedroom (which came dressed in the most beautiful crisp white White Company linen)
The boys also loved the fact that their bedroom was a 'hidden hole in the wall'! It was almost a little cubby hole, that is attached to the wall of the master bedroom - such a fun idea for kids and super cosy!
What about bathroom facilities?
Again, unlike camping, these Luxury Glamping Lodges are fully equipped with a plumbed toilet and a bath. No squatting in bushes or fumbling around in the dark with a torch, you have everything you need right here.
Things to do whilst Glamping at The Nest
Explore the local town of Stamford.
With plenty of shops to stroll and some lovely spots for a bite to eat. We stopped for lunch at the Kings Head one afternoon which I highly recommend for good honest pub grub. We sat outside in a little walled garden and I loved the vegetable gyoza!
A Wild Swim or Kayaking on the lake
. . . which is right outside your lodge! Life jackets were provided, as was use of the kayak.
Explore the surroundings
With so much beauty right on your door step it would be rude not explore it . . .
The pigs were gorgeous to watch, but don't put your fingers anywhere near, as I hear they are quite partial to those too!
Head to the local shops to gather ingredients for a toasty breakfast in bed!
We found a local Waitrose and stopped by to get everything we needed for a hearty breakfast in bed, as the lodges have electrical camping hobs and a stove top on the fire for cooking. Each lodge also has plates, utensils, pans, a kettle and more.
It's such a great experience for kids too. The perfect excuse to down technology and appreciate the beauty of what is around you for a few days.
Wood fired hot tub and movie evenings
The wood fired hot tub is the perfect way to end an evening whatever the weather! Overlooking the lake and far away from everyone - so peaceful!
We stayed just before Halloween and not only did we enjoy carving pumpkins in the lodge, but we also watched a Halloween movie with the projector one evening!
And here are our creations, all lined up whilst watching the Addams Family on the projector with bowls of popcorn as big as our heads!
